There are two ways to turn the tables on paparazzi like TMZ. One is the Alec Baldwin way, which involves physical confrontation that, inevitably, leads to even better pictures for other photogs (irony). Then there’s the way Rick Ross has invented, one I’ve always wondered why no one attempted before, and one that’s a lot more amusing: turning a camera on the paparazzo.
The Maybach Boss decided he was going to be the boss of TMZ, and with the confidence of a Boardwalk Empire takeover, he commandeered this hapless videographer. He re-dubs TMZ owner Harvey Levin “Hervis” and tells the cameraman, “You work for me now. You don’t talk to me; talk to my camera.” The whole thing turns into an impromptu commercial for his Maybach Music Group’s forthcoming Self Made. Vol. 3, making the TMZ staffer plug the release. Still, Ross lets the cameraman have his “money shot” (and vaguely racist) question at the end, a truly fair Boss.
